Our partner - Chinese company, the global leader in telecommunication equipment, hardware and software development. is looking for an experienced Java Software Engineering Lead.

The Java team is growing, and we are looking for a talented software engineering lead who enjoys working on complex projects and learning new things every day.

We are developing NetStar, which is a professional tool for designing complex WDM networks. It assists telecom operators in WDM network planning, design, simulation and analysis. WDM is the highway in the Digital World and Company is a leading WDM supplier, with more than 33% market share globally.

What you’ll be doing?

Leading a team of talented and ambitious developers. «Leading» is not equal to «managing» — and you are expected to be a full-fledged developer yourself.
Build and improve processes within the team
Design and develop scalable, re-usable and high-quality source code
Participate in design, implementation, testing and release activities
Share and apply knowledge and best practices in a multinational team
Learn all the time. The company encourages attending international conferences, and expects employees to stay on the cutting edge of technology.

What we expect from you?

Required:

5+ years of relevant industry software development experience
Strong knowledge of Java, data structures, programming concepts and design patterns, relational databases
Experience in design of complex systems (either as an architect or a leading developer)
Knowledge of modern programming approaches (microservices, message buses)
Experience in managing a development team
Extensive experience with unit and integration testing methods
Experience of working in Linux environment
Conversationally fluent English. A language certificate is not required, but ability to communicate with English-speaking colleagues is a must.

Nice to have:

Good knowledge of algorithms
Telecommunication experience or education
Knowledge of modern software design methods (like microservices)
Experience of working in a large multinational technology company
Track record of participating in recognized technical conferences (either as a speaker or a program committee member)
