WHAT DOES A LEGAL SPECIALIST DO?

Day-to-day legal support of the sales, logistics and operational divisions of the Company. Review of various commercial, business, marketing contracts. Review of compliance of POSMs, A&P initiatives. Review of consumer packaging information of the Company’s products (legal compliance). Direct interaction with the Global legal function (Europe) on functional tasks.

ABOUT YOU

You have knowledge and practical experience in the Russian contract, advertising, trade and competition law.

You have great communication skills, mental strength, and agility to deal with ambiguity, you stay calm under pressure. You have experience in a similar position at international FMCG company or professional legal firm.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

• Legal review and ad hoc drafting of various kinds of business (logistics, lease, purchase & sale, etc.), commercial (supply, sales, distribution) and other contracts, as well as contracts related to the advertising and marketing activities of the Company, in order to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Company interests appropriately.
• Review of advertising, promotion and information materials for compliance with applicable laws and internal policies of the Company. Pro-active advising of internal clients as to available opportunities to market products in the restricted legislative environment.
• Monitoring compliance of the Company’s commercial, advertising and marketing with the competition law and Law on Trade requirements.
• Support of Supply Chain division of the Company in regulatory matters requirements applicable to the turnover of alcohol products (e.g. the declarations of conformity, product labelling requirements, alcohol shipping documentation, information for consumers, etc.).
• As hoc interaction with state bodies (drafting and submission of letters, inquiries, motions, providing verbal and written explanations, etc.)
• Drafting claims (pretensions) to counterparts.
• Representation of the Company in courts on commercial and administrative disputes.
• Providing consulting and trainings to employees of the Company on the matters of functional responsibility
• Self-monitoring of the legislation in the areas of ??functional responsibility. Informing relevant departments / employees on the legislative changes.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO CREATE YOUR LEGACY:

• Work experience in a similar position 3+ years, preferably In international FMCG company or in a professional law firm (experience in a regulated sector like alcohol or tobacco would be an added benefit);
• Strong knowledge of the Russian contract law;
• Principle knowledge of RF competition law (as a min. cartel restrictions and concerted action of economic entities);
• Knowledge of RF advertising legislation and law enforcement practice;
• Basic understanding of taxation principles (i.e. deductibility concept for VAT and CIT);
• Understanding of business processes in the field of professional service;
• Ability to drive results in complex multitasking environment;
• Analytical skills;
• Fluency in English.
