THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
- Manage direct purchasing processes and products, flow and the associated information across the whole business in order to maximize value to the customer whilst minimizing overall costs.
- Co-develop and co-execute Country supply chain Mid-, Long-term strategy and network configuration in order to build optimal end-to-end supply process for achieving Supply Chain operational excellence, in alignment with the corporation’s strategic plans.
- To insure suppliers’ mid and long-term development and transformation to meet the Company customers’ expectations and enhance company’s customer value proposition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purchasing manager is responsible for the process of planning, managing and controlling the allocated product categories of the supply chain to ensure effective and efficient integration of supply and demand management within the company.
Strategic:
- Strategic network configuration and optimization.
- Pro-actively using the deep knowledge of the industry (related to product categories) create and realize the Product Strategy.
- Strategic partnership with suppliers, distributors, customers and internal Stakeholders, creating communication channels for critical information and operational improvements such as self-pick up, direct shipping, third-party logistics.
- Optimal integration of new and existing products into the supply chain, load management.
- Build competitive environment among suppliers to achieve better pricing
- Develop new local suppliers.
Tactical:
- Sourcing contracts and other purchasing decisions.
- Inventory decisions, including quantity, location, and quality of inventory.
- Benchmarking of all operations against competitors and implementation of best practices throughout the company.
- Focus on customer demand.
Operational:
- Demand planning and forecasting, coordinating the demand forecast of all customers and sharing the forecast with all suppliers.
- Production, MRP and distribution planning, including all nodes in the supply chain.
- Materials and components planning, including current inventory and forecast demand, in collaboration with all suppliers.
Key goals:
- Formulate and implement practices and processes which will integrate supply chain lead to incremental value, mitigate third party risks and effectively manage marketplace performance to achieve the highest quality and lowest delivered cost possible.
- Balance market demand with internal supply in order to ensure orderly production and delivery of goods to maximize customer service, minimize inventory investment, increase return on assets and improve the business’ responsiveness to the marketplace.
- Ensure effectiveness of the final forecasts based on input from marketing and historical data.
- Foster a climate of continuous business improvement;
- Provide ongoing training and coaching for employees in aspects of management, S&OP, data integrity and analysis, etc. Foster a climate of continuous personal/professional development;
- Manage the relationship with key service providers;
Key Performance Indicators:
- Creating a more effective and cost-efficient Supply Chain with the agility, adaptability and alignment between the various segments of the Supply Chain that today’s marketplace requires;
- Delivering on sourcing, inventory and other supply chain financial targets
- Customer satisfaction ratings;
- Service level and contractual compliance;
- Problem resolution and response times;
- Successful implementation of all service delivery projects on time and on budget.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or University degree preferably in economics or Supply Chain
- Additional business education is a plus.
- Fluent English.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE
- Minimal 3 years of relevant work experience in International Purchasing and Supply Chain management in consumer companies (As a plus if there is rich experience in Salad & Food Produce or Beverages product categories).
- Solid experience of working in Supply Chain both on a conceptual and operational levels.
- Solid negotiation skills (Top-to-Top, with Global Companies)
- Innovative approach to conflict and issue management
- Experience in contingency planning and crisis management
- Good understanding of distribution function.
- In-depth knowledge of key world class Planning Practices
- Extensive knowledge of planning with strong customer focus.
- Understanding 3PL’s, 4PL’s business model
- Multi-plant, multi-unit and/or multi-discipline experience is a big plus.
- Strong Project management skills.
- Proven experience in managing internal client relationships in complex, large and global organizations.
- Deep insight into the planning process, procedures, finance procedures, quality assurance procedures.
- Ability to make key supply decisions, across the network, quickly having assessed all risks.
