Responsible overseeing and maintaining the operation and maintenance of the pumping stations in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Introduces procedures for the correct operation and maintenance of the sewage pumping stations, constantly trains the staff in charge of O&M, and monitors the results obtained.
• Utilizes a computerized system to oversee, monitor and operate the equipment at the pump stations and associated sewage networks.
• Implements an advanced tool to avoid floodings and overflows of sewage pumping stations.
• Implements on-line sensors connected to SCADA to observe the operation and pumping stations and proposes improvements, particularly related to the electricity consumption.
• Observes operation of pumps, coordinated maintenance inspections, repairs and tests as required, diagnoses problems with pump station facilities, and associated mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance on pumping equipment and other complex equipment related to large diameter valves and pumping/generating equipment to prevent equipment down time.
• Ensures availability of resources to perform basic troubleshooting when required.
• Responsible for the effective coordination of Pumping Stations activities including training, prioritizing, and assigning work and other related activities.
• Ensures protection of interests, non-disclosure of confidential information and documents to the third parties.
• The job description is not exhaustive and may assume additional tasks within the competence of the incumbent.

Qualifications:

• College diploma in mechanical / electrical field;
• Specialized in electromechanics, electricity and automation with a broad knowledge in practices and procedures of maintaining and operating pump stations associated with wastewater network infrastructure.
• Advanced skills in preventive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, generators, motors, high voltage equipment, reservoirs, and other distribution appurtenances, including all related wastewater control and measurement systems.
• Knowledge of English language is a benefit.
• Proficiency in MS Office skills.

Special Skills/Abilities Needed:

• Understand and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering data and complex schematic diagrams necessary to implement preventive, corrective and improvement activities.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and Health and Safety regulations.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Time management and strong ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Hardworking, enthusiastic, dynamic, and quick learner.
• Consistent, accurate, and thorough with an eye for details.

Experience specifications:

Minimum 5 (five) years of pumping specialist experience or equivalent.
