Job Purpose:

The primary role of this individual is to provide support at a local market level to the regional digital direction.

This person will become the local digital expert responsible for driving flawless digital execution across Mattel Brands to drive competitive advantage in an ever changing and highly dynamic environment.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Digital Marketing Execution:
    • Locally deploy EuRoMEA digital marketing strategy and guidelines, whilst maintaining alignment with regional and global strategy
    • Work alongside the regional Digital Campaign manager to maximize efficiency of digital marketing spend and provision to measure return on investment
    • Leadership, management and development of relationships with key local contacts, both internal and external
  • Search marketing:
    • Work with the Regional Senior SEO/SEM analyst to create unified best practice understanding at a local market level
    • Drive local SEO/SEM activity, including keyword research, SEO/SEM copywriting and continual analysis of trends and changes in the market
  • Brand advertising:
    • Work with the Regional Digital team to ensure our brands are positioned appropriately across all digital media
    • Advise on delivery and maximization of performance for online brand/marketing campaigns - in line with regional guidelines
    • Liaise with internal brand marketing teams to ensure creative/content is optimized for digital channels
  • Social Marketing :
    • Work closely with the Regional Social Media manager to execute regional social media plans
    • Hands-on support for local execution, including creation of local posts and support with translation and tone, coordination with all relevant local stakeholders
    • Manage social media agency local market contact whilst maintaining alignment with regional Social Media Manager
  • Digital Thought Leadership:
    • Become the ‘digital champion’ for the local market
    • Constantly strive to demystify digital in the Mattel organization
    • Work closely with local MRI contact to share knowledge
  • Reporting:
    • Analyze results to insure that knowledge is integrated into current and future execution plans
    • Work with the Regional Digital Campaign Manager to track performance of digital media on an on-going basis to establish best practices, while comparing against internal and industry benchmarks
  • Major on-going complexities:
    • Understand EuRoMEA Marketing strategies and plans
    • Maintain collaborative relations with EuRoMEA team

Requirements:

  • Skills:

    • Proven expertise of Digital Marketing in a local market role

    • Highly organized, self-starter with excellent communication skills
    • Strong leadership and very good presentation skills
    • Good reporting and analytic skills, both quantitative and qualitative, with strong attention to detail
    • Results oriented, winning mentality, competitive, strong will to succeed
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills Builds relationships easily, ability to coordinate alignment
    • Knowledge of other European languages valuable
  • Educational background:
    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field
    • MBA preferred
  • Professional experience
    • Minimum 5+ years in online marketing, digital media, or community management, either within an FMCG or a ‘naturally’ digital environment (e.g. Digital Distribution, Video Games, Travel)
    • Must have a minimum of 3 years of working in Digital Marketing
    • Experience working within a matrix organization
