Job Description:

There is an immediate opening for a Regional Business Development Manager in PT&E Business Development in UOP Moscow. The objective of the holder of this position is to provide the necessary customer coverage, relationship management and commercial and technical positioning of UOP process technology and equipment to ensure optimum market share in the region. The successful approach requires flexibility, innovation and sensitivity to client needs and to delivery of value. Candidates must have a sound technical and commercial refining and/or petrochemical industry background and be motivated towards meeting customer needs and achieving sales success and contributing effectively to the meeting of business unit profitability and volume.

Accountabilities of this position include:

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key customer personnel, as well as with local representatives and key personnel within relevant engineering contractors and industry consulting groups.
  • Manage the customer base for the identified regions, develop a clear understanding of assigned customers, in particular with respect to their business drivers, buying behaviors, and decision making structures.
  • Assist SBU management with managing the interface with key client executives.
  • Develop and deliver sales revenue and margin targets within budgeted expense and pricing guidelines for the account region consistent with overall PT&E P&L objectives.
  • Communicate client needs and drivers to relevant groups within UOP and communicate UOP questions and clarifications effectively to client.
  • Positioning of relevant process technologies and equipment with a view to ensuring UOP’s success as well as maximizing sales revenue.
  • Developing strategies for complex sales prospects in consultation with PT&E sales management, PT&E sales support groups, KME, PIC, Modular groups, UOP Callidus, UOP process equipment, Honeywell Connected Plant, and the other SBU’s whose products or services are involved.
  • Organizing and leading internal RFQ/proposal review and pricing/bid strategy meetings.
  • Advise project specific strategies for each event with Sales Support, Technical Services and Product Sales (as necessary).
  • Understand UOP’s objectives and positions and take a lead role in advising the negotiation and closure of sales.
  • Complete won/lost reports for all sales events in a timely manner
  • Manage the preparation and finalization of commercial agreements necessary to close sales.
  • Forecast revenues for assigned customer accounts or specific projects assigned on a monthly basis.
  • Manage accounts receivables for assigned customers or specific projects assigned.
  • Prepare and implement customer plans and maintain customer contact records in conjunction with the other SBU’s.
  • Assist in identifying and communicating cross-SBU project opportunities to the relevant SBU.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and communicate within UOP.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of UOP Technologies and Engineered Products.
  • Knowledge of Licensing business model, Equipment Sales model and Equipment execution from sale to production to delivery and installation.
  • Knowledge or willingness to deeply understand the Honeywell Connected Plant solutions business model, in particular UOP Connected Plant Services (CPS) and its value propositions.
  • Willingness to deeply understand the value propositions and technical support networks for all UOP equipment supply chains, Modular, KME and UOP Callidus
  • Ability to proactively promote customer interest in UOP solutions to generate a win/win solutions approach
  • Sound understanding of complex and value selling
  • Significant travel (50%) is expected as time spent with the customer is an important aspect of the role

    Role holder must be ready to cope with a wide range of cultural social issues.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • University level engineering degree (BSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • Significant experience in Refining and/or Petrochemicals Industries
  • Experience within a commercial role, with some exposure to direct sales
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as good verbal, writing and presentation skills
  • Team playing as well as leadership skills.
  • The position requires significant travel and the associated personal flexibility.
  • An ability to work independently
  • Ability to work and communicate while travelling
  • Fluency in both Russian and English is required and capability to translate during meetings will be necessary.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both spoken & written
  • Role holder must be ready to cope with a wide range of cultural social issues
  • Strong analytical skills
