Due to growth in client business, Macro-Advisory Limited is looking for an analyst to join our team in Moscow. We are a small company, with a team of about 10, providing decision support and advice to high-level executives at some of the world’s largest multinational companies in sectors from technology to consumer goods to energy. We cover all of the countries of Eurasia.

Job description:

We need an analyst who can gather statistics and news about sectors of the economies of the countries of Eurasia. These may include pharmaceuticals, medical goods, forestry, oil and gas, or infrastructure. This will require wide searching of sources in both Russian and English and often requires original and oblique thinking to find the information needed. Our clients already have the obvious data, so we aim to look wider and deeper.

This data will be compiled into a monthly report for corporate clients in the sector. The goal is to separate the signal from the noise and summarise complex situations into simple direct language. We need good Excel skills, especially in data visualisation, and data analysis.

The ideal candidate is:

Moscow-based

Native Russian speaker with excellent English

Ideally some education outside Russia or work experience in an English language environment

Degree in Economics, Finance or Business

1-2 years working in a similar role, but graduates will be considered

Curiosity about business, economics and politics in the former Soviet Union

Able to think originally about a subject and find new questions to ask

Able to separate fact from opinion

Sceptical and analytical in approach

We offer a competitive salary and a flexible approach to working. Salary is expected to be in line with a second year analyst in a large consultancy firm but will depend on experience.

Analysts can set their own schedule and place of work.
