Purpose of the position:
The Inside Sales is the bridge between Sales and Customer service. The Inside Sales performs sales and service support for targeted accounts, existing internal and external customers and/or specified programs. Each Inside Sales may have several Sales Executives and their respective customer portfolio assigned to her/him. And each Inside Sales may have several Branches of Company’s Worldwide Network assigned to her/him. The Inside Sales ensures highest customer satisfaction by handling and coordinating customer requests, i.e. quotations, claims and reports.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain Existing Business
- Familiarize with assigned Company’s Worldwide Network Branches and customer portfolio of assigned Sales Executive
- Prepare Rate Quotations
- Receive Rate request from existing customers or new accounts:
- Gather Information from Sales & Supplies (shipping lines, carriers, airlines, railways, freight-forwarders, company’s network worldwide);
- Format and send quote to client;
- Follow-up in cooperation with Sales Executive & Customer service;
- Perform Logistics Analysis
- Cultivate regular contacts with assigned carriers and suppliers to get the right solutions, at the right time, for the best price, quality and value;
- Select up-to-date processes and services that best meet account’s demands;
- Create and maintain buying rate visibility;
- Prepare and manage all relevant information for Customer service;
- Support Sales in creation of pricing issues;
- Support the delivery of buy productivity and ensure compliance to the process.
- Create Marketing Material
- Customize standard presentations:
- Printing and updating customer handouts.
- Attend Meetings
- Be part of any regular customer review meetings.
- Perform Special Assignments
- Assist on customer projects, i.e. market analysis;
- Maintain CRM (inquiries, opportunities, quotations, buying rates).
- Working on other logistics areas depending on business priorities;
Education:
- University Degree in Economics, Logistics.
Professional experience:
- Requires a minimum of three years experience within the freight, transportation or logistics industry. Preferably having worked during that time within International Operations, i.e. Air-, Sea-, rail-, Roadfreight and/or Contract Logistics.
Major competences required:
- The ideal candidate will provide a solid PC operational knowledge related to MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EDI. The person should be self-disciplined and self-motivated with a strong customer focus and feeling for qualitative work. The candidate also should provide outstanding verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate creativity and analytical skills in his/ her tasks and assignments. Fluent English is a must. Comprehensive experience in the area of multimodal operational logistics would be an advantage.
