Head of Design studio

About the role

Cheil Creative Solution division is looking for an experienced Head of Design.

In this role, you will be leading the Design Team to help deliver high-quality multidisciplinary design work that comes to life in any media or form-factor: digital, print, motion, etc.

The Design Team works closely with the Creative Team to serve its needs in creating materials for advertising campaigns such as prints, ads for digital screens (banners and social media), websites, videos and so on. The Design Team also often works directly with clients and help to cover various non-advertising design needs such as 3D-visualisations, motion design, etc.

In this role, you will be acting as

• the strategic-minded leader, helping to define the strategy of the Team’s development, hiring and training the Team;
• the creative leader, providing guidance to designers while working on day-to-day projects and helping effectively bridge the Design Team with other units;
• the hands-on designer, when necessary, delivering excellence in execution.

Together with leaders of the Creative Solution division, you will be looking for ways of how to make the Design Team workflow more effective through developing and introducing processes and innovative solutions to automate routine work.

You will be reporting to the Creative Director and act on his behalf when it comes to design.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the Design Team delivers high-quality multidisciplinary design product: print, digital, motion.
2. Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for the Design Team.
3. Envision and implement solutions that help the Design Team to work more effectively.
4. Develop and foster relationships with other units of the agency.
5. Present the design work in front of the client.
6. Deliver hands-on excellence on selected projects.
7. Develop fertile creative design culture.

Qualifications [to be updated]

• University degree in art or related
• 10 years of experience in the advertising industry
• 3 years of experience in leading creative or design teams 5+ people
• Experience in an advertising agency in an art-director role with a track record of 360 projects
• International advertising agency network experience
• Portfolio of work that demonstrates hands-on skills as of a multidisciplinary designer or art-director
