Janssen Russia and CIS (RCIS) is the commercial operating company for our pharmaceutical division in Russia and CIS, consisting of several countries, Kazakhstan being the main ones. Janssen RCIS is responsible for the access, marketing and sales of the pharmaceutical business in the said territory.
The operating company has an annual revenue of approx. $600MM that will continue to grow significantly over the next coming years surpassing $750MM by 2025. Main offices are in Moscow (Russia).
We are looking for a Finance Director (FD) for Janssen RCIS based in Moscow, Russia. As a key member of the RCIS Management Board, the FD will be responsible for the financial leadership, direction, and management of the pharmaceutical operating company. This includes the development, execution, management and follow up of strategies and action plans, as well as the translation into a Business Plan to maximize the value of the Janssen portfolio over the long term. Further, the RCIS FD is specifically responsible for leading the planning, budgeting and actual reporting processes including Financial Analysis, Resource Allocation, BP & Forecast Updates, optimization of Working Capital and management of financial Risks and Opportunities. In doing so, the RCIS FD will ensure alignment with all stakeholders – finance and business - in RCIS as well as at Emerging Markets level and within EMEA.
In addition to the RCIS Commercial Finance responsibilities, the RCIS FD is responsible for the Janssen Russia MRC as well as assuming Statutory responsibilities for the several Legal Entities that make up this MRC, with specific responsibility for financial compliance and corporate governance.
The RCIS FD will also lead and coordinate the local, virtual finance team of approx. 15 people and lead the organization through the finance transformation process (SigniFi). The role will report directly to the Senior Finance Director of EMEA Emerging Markets (EM).
Key responsibilities:
Business Partnering and Leadership
- Active member of the Janssen RCIS Management Board; collaborate with all members of the Board as well as departmental heads e.g. Head of Market Access, Director Sales & Marketing; participate to the operating company governance structure and meetings. Special focus will be the development of go-to-market approaches, market access strategies, strategic workforce planning and resource allocation strategies.
- Active member of the EMEA Emerging Markets Finance Leadership team and ad-hoc participation to EMEA Finance Directors meetings, to ensure creation and alignment of the finance agenda and sharing of best practices.
- As a Board Member, expect to lead, sponsor and participate in Cross-Sector or EM/EMEA wide initiatives in finance or in the business.
- Develop and apply a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical environment, the regional specifics, local access environment, competitive landscape, as well as therapeutic areas and products.
- Develop internal and external focus and establish connections with outside stakeholders.
- Develop strong relationships with our key local partners, mainly Pharmstandard.
Financial Planning & Review
- Lead the development of the Long-Range Financial Plan (LRFP), business plan, updates, and quarterly latest estimate cycles. This includes detailed analysis and scenario planning, alignment of all parties within RCIS, EM and EMEA and coordination of the preparation, consolidation, and review of the detailed financial plans for the Leadership Teams in RCIS, EM and EMEA.
- Lead the financial performance reviews providing an overview of performance and outlook to RCIS Management Board as well as to EM leadership (EM MD, Head of EM Market Access, EM Medical Director, EM FD) including drivers of variance, insights into future impacts, action plans and best practices.
- Actively contribute to commercial decision-making processes, including price strategies, target setting and resource allocation.
- Management and execution of business plan commitments including sales, headcount, Opex, Capex, DSO, Net Income (MRNI), Cashflow and Secured Supply.
- As a special project, lead the implementation of the J&J finance transformation project (SigniFi) in RCIS by ensuring alignment and communication in the Board and with local internal stakeholders, alignment and execution of the strategy for RCIS and collaboration with the EMEA SigniFi teams.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the J&J WW financial policies, HCBI, SOX and Code of Business Conduct as well as drive Compliance accountability throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure adherence to the J&J CREDO.
- Statutory Compliance responsibility for the Legal Entities making up the Janssen Russia MRC, which involves partnership with other country’s finance teams.
People management
- Lead the Janssen RCIS Business Unit Finance (BUF) team.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent.
- Leverage Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) to create a high performing team.
- Ensure collaboration between ONE Finance team (bringing together GS, Tax & Statutory CoE, JBS Finance) and be the single point of contact for the RCIS Management Board and EM/EMEA Finance teams.
- Develop a team of agile Finance professionals, applying an external and customer lens while continue to develop critical finance capabilities like market access, digital acumen.
- Proactive contributor to the J&J RCIS X-sector Finance Talent Council.
Qualifications:
- University Degree & recognised professional financial qualifications.
- Exceptional financial and analytical skills.
- Strong track record in developing strategies, plans and delivering results.
- Strong compliance track record.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience, minimum 5 years of experience in leading teams and collaborating with senior management, business and functional leaders.
- Proven experience as a Finance Leader in a large, multinational and matrix organization.
- Pharmaceutical industry know-how is a plus with knowledge of health care systems, operating models and understanding of the RCIS environment.
- Strong experience in leading diverse & virtual teams, leading through change and collaborating with senior management, business and functional leaders.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player mentality and collaborative working style.
- Excellent communication, influencing and framing skills.
- Exemplary leadership skills in creating high performing teams and developing people to their highest potential.
- Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in periods of change.
